A Long Walk with Fate weaves universal themes of love, forgiveness and belonging into a fast-paced narrative. Readers who have come to expect international intrigue in Liz Torlée’s first two novels will not be disappointed. Janet Trull, The End of the Line

There are themes, characters and fateful events that connect the stories in these three books, but each one also stands alone as an independent novel.

FLIGHT
Orion Winked
In 2025, Liz’s short story, Orion Winked, was one of four etched onto a picnic table in the Ontario town of Cobourg, as part of the ‘Poetchry’ initiative to showcase the work of local poets and authors.

Orion Winked tells the story of a woman indulging in what she believes is the futile hope that her lover, who died a year ago, will find a way to contact her.

Narrowing the field
This is a story of regret and missed opportunity. Harry, an elderly bachelor, gets an unexpected call from a young man looking for his father. Nervous, but eager to see him, Harry prepares for the meeting … but it does not go as planned.

Published in the Spirit of the Hills ‘Change’ anthology in 2024
